Bucharest, March 28th 2018: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) was the host of the “SelectUSA Investment Summit”, organized in partnership with the Commercial Service of the United States Embassy in Bucharest, today, March 28th.
During the event were presented details on the organization and participation at this year’s edition of the SelectUSA Investment Summit, which will be held from June 20th-22nd 2018 in Washington DC.

Ms. Cristina Ciocîrlă, Invest Romania, sent the message of the Secretary of State from the Ministry of Business, Trade and Entrepreneurship, Mrs. Paula Pîrvănescu: “In order to capitalize the local presence at SelectUSA, Invest Romania will organize, in the near period of this event, together with CCIR, the Chicago Chamber of Commerce and with the support of the US Embassy in Bucharest, a business forum in Chicago to provide the possibility to local firms to set up business meetings and potential successful partnerships with US companies”.

The main areas targeted by US partners are software and IT&C, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, consumer goods, energy, environmental protection, financial services, logistics and transport, machinery and equipment, tourism.
Mr. Virgil Goagă, Director of the Department of Foreign Relations of CCIR, stressed the importance of investments even when it comes to the USA: “For me, representatives of Romanian companies wishing to expand their business in the US market and moving to SelectUSA are modern conquistadors of Romania, which the CCIR supports, with all the efforts, in conquering new territories through sustainable and sustainable business”.
Mr. Joshua Burke, a commercial attaché at the US Embassy in Bucharest, highlighted the three priorities of the US Embassy in Bucharest: “First of all, we are looking to promote US exports, (…) secondly, we are engaged in attracting foreign investors to the US, a task that has been delegated to us by the US Congress. Therefore, one of our main goals is to work directly with potential investors and try to bring the expertise, capital, and experience of Romanian entrepreneurs to the USA. The third priority is commercial diplomacy and the promotion of US business across borders”.
