Bucharest, April 4th 2018: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) organized on April 4th, an information seminar on the organization and conditions for the participation of Romanian companies at the China International Import Expo Fair, the first event exclusively dedicated to imports to the Chinese market. The China International Import Expo is organized under the patronage of President R.P. Chinese, H.E. Xi Jinping and it takes place, this year, on November 5th -10th, in Shanghai. There were also discussed the opportunities offered by Canton’s annual Import-Export Trade Fair.

Mr. Virgil Goagă, Director of the Foreign Relations Department of CCIR, urged Romanian companies to orient their exports to China: “These fairs represent opportunities for Romanian entrepreneurs to move towards the largest market in the world, with a great power of absorption”.

Taking into account that R.P. China estimates imports of over $ 10,000 billion over the next five years, China International Import Expo represents a unique opportunity for Romanian companies to promote their products and identify stable Chinese partners with the support of which they can expand their activities in the Chinese market.

Mr. Xu Bing, Vice President of China’s Foreign Trade Center, said he wants an open communication with Romanian companies: “We are looking to build dialogue opportunities, exchanges of views on trade-related cooperation between Romania and China.”

Mr. Guan Gang, Economic and Commercial Counselor, Embassy R.P. Chinese in Romania, recalled that the main purpose of the Chinese delegation is to promote among the Romanian companies the international import trade fair in China: “We consider that this fair is a very important platform that brings the Romanian companies the opportunity to access the Chinese market”.


Organized for the first time in Shanghai, the China International Import Expo Fair will host, in 2018, exhibitors from over 100 countries to have the opportunity to meet over 150,000 Chinese and foreign companies specializing in import, distribution and trade.

The event is dedicated to foreign producers and exporters in areas such as electronics and home appliances, textiles, accessories and consumer products, automotive, innovative technologies, food, medical equipment, cosmetics, automated industrial equipment, tourism, culture and education, design, IT equipment and solutions, etc.
