Constanța, May, 3rd, 2018: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mihai Daraban, participated today, May, 3rd, at the official opening of the ExpoAgroUtil Fair, at its twenty-sixth edition.

Organized by the Constanța Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation, and Agriculture, in partnership with the Agriculture Department of Constanța County, ExpoAgroUtil is the largest trade fair in the South-East and North-East regions of Romania and covers all sections of the agricultural industry. The event benefits from a significant presence of producers and distributors of agricultural machinery, but also of planting material, traditional products, and winemaking, financing, and insurance.

Present at the opening of the fair, CCIR president, Mr. Mihai Daraban, reiterated the importance of the event in the context of a significant increase in exhibitors’ participation by 20% compared to last year and by 35% over the previous years: “The ExpoAgroUtil project started from an area of 2000 square meters, has reached 4,000 square meters and now at its 26th edition we can pride ourselves on an area of 15,000 square meters and about 600 equipment exhibited at this event. ExpoAgroUtil is the second national agriculture fair after Indagra. ”

“The agriculture is a bet of Romania, which we hope to win it. There is a lot to be done in this area of activity, beyond the record productions, unfortunately, on export, we are dealing with raw materials. It is time to produce in Romania, to consume products made in Romania and to try to sell products with the highest added value. Romania’s trade deficit is growing exponentially. We are talking about 10 billion Euros in 2016, 13 billion Euros in 2017. (…) CCIR is making every effort to promote internationally the Romanian business and at the same time advocate for diminishing this trade deficit”, said Mihai Daraban, at the opening of the ExpoAgroUtil fair.

The Mayor of Constanța, Mr. Decebal Fădăgău, said: “The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania managed to transform this event from one that enrolled in a certain calendar, into an event that is part of a national calendar. The fact that Mr. President Daraban claims at the national level this event is very important for Constanța Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Navigation and Agriculture, for Constanța Municipality and even for the Dobrogea region. (…). We will plan a relocation of the exhibition space, so all events will be a replica of this fair that has grown for 26 years and is growing nicely. ”

The official opening of AgroExpoUtil was attended by Dănuţ Jugănaru, General Manager CCINA Constanţa; Ms. Iulia Antonia Bruchental, Executive Director, Constanța County Agriculture Directorate; Mr. Mustafa Levent, sub-prefect of Constanța County; Ms. Marioara Gâju, mayor of Cumpăna commune, first vice president of the Association of Communes of Romania.
