Bucharest, July 23rd, 2018: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) published on the official web site the report of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – “Business Action for Sustainable and Resilient Societies”. The report includes case studies, measures and recommendations on how governments can help companies implement sustainable development goals in their strategies.
ICC, the only private sector organization with the status of UN observer, is committed to supporting the United Nations Agenda 2030 on Sustainable Development. In this context, the ICC launched the “Business Action for Sustainable and Resilient Societies” report to help implement faster solutions to sustain the sustainable development goals of society.
The report’s objectives include protecting, restoring and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainable forest management, combating desertification and halting land degradation, halting biodiversity loss, ensuring availability and sustainable water management and sewerage systems for all but also accessing to everyone at affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy.

Recently, the ICC launched the Business Action for Sustainable and Resilient Societies report at the Business Forum Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) held in New York.

The ICC encourages the private sector to support sustainable development goals through innovative actions, but at the same time calls on governments to take action by implementing long-term policies, providing an adequate framework and incentives for enterprises to meet the challenges of sustainable development, become more competitive, create jobs and promote sustainable economic growth.
