Bucharest, October 31st, 2018: INDAGRA – The international fair for products and equipment in the field of agriculture, horticulture, viticulture, and zootechnics, was officially opened on October 31st, 2018, at the Romexpo Exhibition Center.

The most important manifestation with an agricultural profile organized in Romania, the INDAGRA 2018 fair is designed and organized by Romexpo along with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and is carried out under the High Patronage of the President of Romania.

The Indagra Fair is the most important Romanian event with an agricultural character, a landmark for the producers and distributors in the field. The fair brings to the fore modern products and equipment for increasing agricultural production.

At the opening of the event, CCIR President, Mr. Mihai Daraban, said: “Indagra, since its inception, has recorded annual records. Each time, more exhibitors and larger exposure areas. This year, we have 740 exhibitors, occupying 46,130 square meters, half a hectare more than last year. As far as the Romanian agricultural sector is concerned, we want to get high value-added products, we want to bet a lot on processing and we want Indagra Food to go beyond Indagra in the future. But for this, there must be a joint effort from all the institutions involved. “

Present at the opening, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Petre Daea, said Indagra is “a sequence of success in organizing, participating, presenting, with the satisfaction of domestic and international appreciation. The Romexpo Exhibition Plate, under the Indagra logo, has hosted, alongside its existence, the space of visual communication where agricultural technology producers and not only have placed their interest with farmers and investors in meeting their requirements. It has created the possibility of choosing and capitalizing on the work of industrialists, chemists, biologists and all those who have contributed to the development of the Romanian agriculture and food industry “.

Mr. Cosmin Marinescu, Presidential Advisor – Department of Economic and Social Policies, sent the message H.E. President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis: “I congratulate Romexpo, the leader of the Romanian fair and exhibition industry, for how this year has managed to combine tradition with experience and quality with international standards for the benefit of Romanian exhibitors, consumers, and agriculture. The force of events such as INDAGRA shows that trust in entrepreneurs’ capacities to capitalize on the huge potential of Romania in agriculture is fully justified. I am convinced that, through such fairs and exhibitions, Romania becomes an important regional hub for the agricultural sector and for the market. Lately, the challenges of the future in agriculture are intensely debated at European level. New approaches are envisaged – a fairer distribution of direct payments, greater environmental ambitions and climate change, and key concerns for research and innovation in agriculture”
