Tirana, December 17th, 2019: A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) attended today, December 17th, at the Plenary Assembly of the Association of Balkan Chambers, an event that took place in Albania, in Tirana. During the event, topics of major interest were discussed for the members of the Association of the Balkan Chambers, such as dual education, digitization at the member level and identification of new ways to strengthen the collaboration between the members of the association.

Dual education offers pragmatic solutions to qualify a workforce prepared to meet the demands of the real economy, by training specialists in all sectors of economic interest, at European and international level. One of the most important objectives of the association, the digitization, will lead to the efficiency of obtaining the exchange of business information as well as the documents of international trade in real time, online. Regarding the strengthening of the cooperation between the members of the association, it was discussed the organization of round tables and regular working meetings that address different topics of interest for the business environments in the Western Balkans.

“The economic stability in the region can be maintained and strengthened only through a performing business environment, and the performance is achieved with trained employees and specialized workforce, elements that can be obtained efficiently, especially through education programs. vocational and dual education. The requests made by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, in collaboration with the National Authority for Initial Vocational Training in Dual System, have led to the opening, until now, of eight regional offices of dual education, in Romania” said the Deputy Director of the External Relations Directorate of CCIR, Mr. Ștefan Voinea.

Background

The Association of the Balkan Chambers was founded in 1994 in Mangalia at the initiative of the Bulgarian and Romanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The association is a non-political and non-governmental organization that aims to support the business environment in the Balkans. The founding members were the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Romania, Turkey and Serbia, which were subsequently joined by Cyprus. The association does not have a permanent office but is chaired by each member country for a period of one year.
