Bucharest, July 15, 2024: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, had, on July 15th, an official meeting with the Economic Counselor of the United States (USA) Embassy in Romania, Mr. Jessup Taylor, for the purpose of mutual information on joint economic projects between the two states.

“CCIR has a special relationship with the US Embassy in Romania, as evidenced by both the joint actions we have been undertaking for several years, and here I am referring to the seminars organized in cooperation with the FBI Office and the county chambers on the topic of anti-corruption and cybersecurity, as well as to the promotion of the US programs for boosting trade and investments, among the Romanian business community. Romania and USA are involved in large-scale projects, such as the one in the field of nuclear energy, particularly important for increasing the energy security of Romania and the entire region. Finally, especially considering the current geopolitical situation, the strategic partnership managed to give another dimension to the development of bilateral trade relations, offering a high degree of security for both Romanian and American entrepreneurs”, said the president of the CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.

Mr. Jessup Taylor particularly appreciated the cooperation between the two organizations. He congratulated CCIR for the celebration of 160 years of history of the chambers of commerce in Romania, period that coincides with the appearance of other important institutions for the economic development of Romania. At the same time, the Economic Counselor of the US Embassy in Romania valued the potential of the cooperation with CCIR.
