Ankara, February 21st, 2024: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, and the President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), Mr. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, signed, on February 21st, a new Memorandum of Collaboration between the two organizations, a document that will contribute to the further development of stronger business relations between the two states, establishing, at the same time, guidelines for an economic cooperation advantageous for both parties.
TOBB is the strongest legal entity in Turkey that has the interests of the private sector, having over three million companies, paying annual dues, the activity regulated by a legal framework inspired by the European model, which provides for the mandatory membership of the companies of the Turkish Chamber of Commerce. Considering these coordinates, TOBB managed to have a significant level of representativeness at the level of the business environment, but also, in general, of the civil societies in Tour, while developing an impressive infrastructure, used for the benefit of the business community.
“”The Memorandum of Collaboration that we signed today with TOBB, an event held in resonance with the exceptional political relationship between our countries, will outline a much greater degree of closeness between the Romanian and Turkish business environments, which will thus be able to establish business contacts in an easier way. Turkey remains Romania’s most important commercial partner among the states that do not belong to the European Union, in the CCIR strategy an important pillar is the internationalization of Romanian business in the extra-EU space, a context in which the quality of this G20 member state represents an advantage of utmost importance for Romania”, declared the president of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.
“Apart from the special personal relationship I have with the president of the CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban, and I take this opportunity to thank him for the total support given in my election as president of the World Federation of Chambers of Commerce, our organizations, as well as those more important. two business communities, have a long tradition of collaboration. I believe that the conclusion of this new Memorandum of Collaboration with CCIR will be a useful basis for strengthening the political relationship between the two states, Romania being a supporter of Turkey’s interests in relation to the European Union and NATO. Businessmen from Turkey are ready to share their experience with Romania, especially in terms of infrastructure projects, which we are convinced we can achieve together”, said the president of TOBB, Mr. Rifat Hisarciklioglu.
