Bucharest, February 20th, 2017: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), in partnership with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) held on February 20th, 2017, at the CCIR Business Center, “Parts & Components Procurement Exhibition 2017”, an event addressed to Romanian producers of auto parts and components.

Bilateral economic relations in the sector can be improved by communication and thus by knowing potential business partners. The event is a business-matching type brought together representatives of 10 Japanese companies with headquarters in Romania as well and 15 Romanian manufacturers of parts and components for the automotive sector and more.

Opening the event, the Director of External Relations Department of the CCIR, Mr. Virgil Goagă reiterated CCIR support for Romanian companies in their efforts to access markets outside UE, like Japan. Japan External Trade Organization was represented at the highest level by Mr. Keisuke Mizuno, CEO of Jetro Romania.

The dynamics of trade between Romania and Japan, at the level of October 2016, indicate a total turnover of 444.57 mil. EUR.

Background:

JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) is a Japanese governmental organization founded in 1958 with the purpose of promoting mutual trade and investment between Japan and the world. The original purpose of JETRO activity was to promote exports of Japanese companies abroad, but in the 21st century work focused on attracting foreign investment and supporting small and medium enterprises in Japan in order to maximize their export potential worldwide.
