The meeting takes place at the International Chamber of Commerce, Paris, and aims to debate the ICC Strategic Priorities for 2018, as well as ICC Policies and Global Affairs.

On June, 21st, President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban had meetings with Laetitia de Montalivet, Director, Arbitration and ADR EUROPE, Alexis Mourre, Presidents of ICC International Court of Arbitration, John W.H. Denton, ICC General Secretary. Mr. Lazăr Comănescu, Adviser to the President of CCIR on Foreign Relations formed part of the CCIR official delegation. Among the priorities of the ICC International Committee are: how international trade, investment, and globalization can contribute to economic growth; supporting viability through business; supporting open savings to improve living standards for all; promoting the rule of law and good governance as well as fostering innovation and the digital economy for growth and job creation.

In this context, the president of CCIR, Mihai Daraban, said: “CCIR works to support open economies whose results are to be found in living standards. In this sense, I believe that the promotion of trade and investment are the main drivers of economic and social development, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania creates multiple possibilities for promoting entrepreneurs by organizing forums, debates, and conferences aimed at facilitating B2B meetings. At the same time, I believe that the promotion of modern multilateral trading and investment rules could create opportunities for all countries.”

Another important topic of this meeting is digitization in the commercial finance sector as a vector for stimulating economic growth and, at the same time, sustainable development. According to a Global ICC study, digitization will make trade more inclusive and provide new opportunities for business growth internationally.
