Bucharest, 06^th September 2022: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, on Tuesday, September 6^th, had a meeting with Mr. Dan Shomon, the former long-time Campaign Manager and Political Director for American President Barack Obama, and the management of Cyber Level Ins, one of the leading American companies in the field of cyber security. The meeting was focused on the collaboration between companies members of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Cyber Level Ins regarding cyber protection.

CCIR and Cyber Level Ins have signed a collaboration agreement to connect cyber security and insurance experts with the network of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and its members to help analyse potential risks and create networks business safety.

“At the CCIR level there is a constant concern about protecting the business environment from cyber-attacks, more and more frequent as technology advances. We are considering organizing seminars on this topic so that businesspeople are prepared to adequately respond to such attacks, and the collaboration agreement we signed today with the American company Cyber Level Ins is a first step in this direction. The Romanian economy urgently needs foreign investments, with the trade deficit reaching an unimaginable level of 23.8 billion euros at the end of last year. Foreign investments will help Romania enter the market with brands with high added value and not with components that appear under foreign names, as is happening now. Obviously, chambers of commerce have an essential role in this process of attracting investment, because they are the only organizations that have a complete picture of the business environment. In fact, the most relevant Romanian companies are members of the chambers of commerce, and this says a lot about our activity. Therefore, we want as many strong Romanian brands as possible, with products with a real market value, but which are as well protected as possible from any kind of cyber-attack”, said the president of the CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.

“This is not just a cyber security partnership between CCIR and Cyber Level Ins. This is a partnership between America and CCIR as my goal is to bring American companies to the National Chamber and build relationships that benefit our allied countries as well as their corporations. I hope that this is the beginning of international business partnerships between Romanian, American and European companies. The alliance between the United States of America and Romania should not only be military and security. It should also be about jobs, economic opportunity and, as is the case today, technological progress. This will be a priority for me now as an official partner of the CCIR”, said Mr. Dan Shomon, important shareholder at Cyber Level Ins..
