Bucharest, October 1, 2025: The Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) has finalized the statistics for the National Top Companies 2025, the most important ranking of high-performing companies in Romania, based on the analysis of 917,881 financial statements.

The 13,078 companies ranked in the top 10 positions, operating across seven analyzed sectors (industry, services, trade, tourism, research-development and high-tech, agriculture-forestry-fisheries, and construction), recorded a cumulative turnover of over 287 billion euros, up 6.07% compared to the previous year. Additionally, operating profit increased by 1.37%, reaching 25.9 billion euros, representing 9% of total turnover.

The data reveals positive developments in workforce as well: the 13,078 companies included in the top 10 positions employ a total of 1,393,055 employees, a figure that increased by 3.77% compared to the previous period.

The figures from the National Top Companies 2025 speak for themselves. We have over 6% growth in turnover, nearly 1.4 million employees in top companies, and a constant expansion in the number of jobs. These results demonstrate that Romania’s economic situation is far from being as gloomy as is sometimes portrayed in public discourse. The Romanian business environment proves its adaptability. Our companies continue to invest, hire, and generate profit. The nearly 4% increase in the number of employees is a very important signal—the Romanian economy is not just surviving, but creating opportunities,” stated CCIR President Mr. Mihai Daraban.

From a sectoral structure perspective, industry and services dominate the ranking by number of companies (34.41% and 28.83%, respectively), while in terms of turnover, trade holds the largest share (43.98%), followed by industry (32.83%) and services (13.14%). Industry remains the most profitable sector, concentrating 38.68% of the total profit of ranked companies, with a profit margin of 10.63%.

About the National Top Companies

The Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR) has been conducting the National Top Companies (TNF) since 1994, being the only institution authorized by organic law to establish such a ranking at the national level. For the 2025 edition, 917,881 financial statements were analyzed, of which 356,105 entered the competition for the top 10 positions, in accordance with the methodology implemented by the Chambers of Commerce from all counties. The ranking is based on five essential economic indicators: net turnover, operating profit, operating profit rate, efficiency of human resources utilization, and efficiency of employed capital utilization.
