CCIR present at the 135th General Assembly of Eurochambres

Malmö, Sweden, June 12, 2025: The General Secretary of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi, participated on June 12 in the 135th General Assembly of the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Eurochambres).
Through its presence at this event, CCIR continues to play an active role in the activities of European chamber of commerce organizations, focusing especially on highly current economic aspects that concern business communities in the European space, such as improving dialogue between the EU and the USA.
CCIR General Secretary Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi emphasized the importance of the organization’s participation in European decision-making processes: “CCIR is actively involved in strengthening the influence of the European business environment on improving the decision-making mechanisms of European institutions. We support increasing cohesion within the EU and reducing centrifugal movements of community dissolution. Additionally, CCIR wishes to become once again an active partner for national authorities, as the main vector for promoting the interests of the business community in Romania, with the aim of identifying realistic solutions for reducing the country’s financial deficits.”
Background
Currently, Eurochambres represents over 20 million businesses in Europe through its 45 members (43 national chamber of commerce and industry organizations and two transnational chambers) and a European network of 1,700 local and regional chambers. Over 93% of the enterprises represented are SMEs.
