Taking into account the current economic realities in which Romanian entrepreneurs and multinational companies present in Romania need qualified staff to develop their manufactures and to boost exports, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania supports reshaping the professional education system, offering young graduates the necessary competencies to fit on the labor market. In a context in which Romania has lost more than 642,000 jobs during the economic crisis, the revenues of the state budget have dropped, and the payroll has reduced with 11 billion Euros – realities which indicate the necessity of job creation, CCIR can contribute to the revival of areas which need properly qualified workforce.

Taking into consideration the almost natural tendency of most youngsters to head towards higher education, although many of them lack the necessary abilities and knowledge to go through and graduate, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania considers that directing graduates of secondary education towards professional education will represent a real benefit for the business environment, as well as an opportunity for young people to rapidly integrate on the labor market.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania has the necessary infrastructure to collect the needs for practical training contracts, through its members’ network, thus obtaining fundamental information for drafting the tuition plan for professional education. Precisely, the Chambers of Commerce will assume and develop the vocational education activities, involving in its planning and in identifying, from one class to another, the needed workforce. As a result, the tuition figures will not be determined in order to preserve existing teaching departments, but according to the market’s requirements.
In the following period, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania will be actively involved in supporting professional education, building a results-driven dialogue between the Ministry of National Education and economic agents.

The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania,

Mihai Daraban
