The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) signed on Thursday, 21st of May, 2015, a collaboration protocol, based on which the two entities will collaborate for sustaining the community of entrepreneurs from Romania, widely promoting the use of solutions offered by the capital market in regards to financing the growth and development of the companies and the business community.

On the basis of this protocol, the two institutions will cooperate to create a partnership for developing the national economy. The purpose of the protocol is to sustain the Romanian entrepreneurs by facilitating the access to financing, for a balanced and equitable development. The long term objective of the collaboration protocol is to raise the regional competitiveness, as well as the economic and social cohesion.

A first project in partnership will be to organize, in the main cities of the country, events dedicated to the member companies of the County Chambers of Commerce and of the local business environment, with the purpose of promoting a new alternative system of listing at the BVB, AERO Market, which will help small and medium entrepreneurs eager to develop their business and to attract investments from the capital market.

The beginning of the collaboration between CCIR and BVB was marked by the official opening of the trading session, which was done by Aurelian Gogulescu, Vice-President at a representation level of CCIR, who rang the opening bell.

“The protocol with BVB marks a new stage in the strategy of the chamber system of contributing to the development of the business community. “We all must cooperate to make this country and this economy more competitive, to improve the situation of the finance sector and especially the capital market. Competitiveness is one of the key words that can change the image of Central and Eastern Europe. Our objective is to improve the Romanian market and then to build our presence on the international scene”, declared Ludwik Sobolewski, CEO of Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Mircea Ursache, Vice-President of the Financial Supervisory Authority, sustained that “signing the collaboration agreement between CCIR and BVB marks a new stage in the development of the Romanian market and the surpassing of the status of borderline market. I encourage all the companies from the structure of the Chamber of Commerce to use the instruments of the capital market”.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania has over 12.000 member companies, and the largest percentage is held by the companies in commerce and tourism, industry and services, being taken into account the data provided by CCIR.
