Paris, June 7th, 2017: The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, headed by the president of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban, made an working visit in Paris, France on Wednesday, June 7th, 2017. During the visit, meetings were held with the President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Pierre Goguet, and high-level representatives of the Francofon Business Forum and Club Efficience.

 The topics discussed during the meeting with the President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry focused on the perspectives of cooperation between the Romanian and French chambermaid organizations, with a focus on their contribution to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries’ entrepreneurial environments, both bilaterally and on third markets.

As for the meeting with the president of the Francophone Business Forum, Mr. Steve Gentili, special attention was paid to capitalizing on the opportunities offered by the International Organization of Francophonie. It was also mentioned the possibility of correlating the activities along the economic axis of Francophony with the future Romanian Presidency of the EU Council.

It has been agreed on a systematic exchange of information on business opportunities, identification of areas with potential in the field, and joint projects by Romanian and French companies.

 

Background:

 

  • The Efficience Club regroups the African Diaspora and aims to promote African economic interests in France and Europe and to create cooperation bridges for Africa through projects. It has a network of over 600 members (heads and representatives of business and opinion leaders). Partners include: Forbes Afrique, Le Point, Canal + Afrique, Orange, Cabinet Orrick, French Institute); Institutional partners (IPEMED, Fondation Africa France, Fondation Energy for Life, Fondation Culture & Diversité, Fondation Chirac, Fondation at Fondation Aces, Fondation Tony Elumelu, Fondation Face, and African Embassies in Paris.

 

  • FFA – the Francofon Business Forum – is the main partner in organizing economic events of OIF, focusing on fostering cooperation between economic actors in the francophone states, fostering dialogue between the political and economic environment, actively contributing to facilitating exchanges between the private sector and the francophone economies. FFA has a good co-operation with the National Chambers of Commerce with which it develops projects. There is a great interest in cooperating with Romania in organizing events focused on sectors of interest for our country, such as information / digital technologies; automotive, energy. The FFA also works with: the OECD, the French Development Agency / AFD, the Central African Development Bank / BDEAC and Business France.
