Brussels, January 30th: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, attended the Extraordinary Meeting of Eurochambres Members on Wednesday, January 30th, at the TOBB Headquarters in Brussels.
On this occasion, the President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban had a working meeting with the European Commissioner for Budget and Human Resources, Mr. Gunther Oettinger, on financial support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
“As a member of Eurochambers, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania advocates providing more substantial support to small and medium-sized enterprises, related to the future multiannual financial framework, through the specific European programs, COSME+ and ERASMUS+. We also want these programs to be focused on vocational training, an objective that CCIR pursues with consistency”, said president Daraban.
This meeting comes after the official visit by the European Commissioner to Bucharest at the end of last year when he stated that: “a quick approval of the future multiannual budget framework of the European Union by national leaders and the European Parliament will show whether Europe is also able to act against such challenges”.
At the same time, a series of themes of major importance for European chambers of commerce and industry were debated, such as the launch of the “Chamber +” Community Platform and the organization of the Eurochambers Plenary Assembly, the summer edition.
“It is an honor for the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania to organize the 125th edition of the Eurochambers Plenary Assembly this year, in Bucharest, on June. Members of the Association, coming from 44 states, will debate on this occasion topics of major importance for Eurochambers, such as the budget or the future of the association. With regard to the launch of the Chamber+ platform, under the umbrella of it, “interest communities” will be created through the adhesion of various local, regional and national camps from across Europe who share common interests and who are willing to work together in a European context. Chamber+ will be a modern way of virtual communication and cooperation between members and will be a very important tool that can bring considerable benefits”, also said the President of CCIR, MR. Mihai Daraban.
