Bucharest, April 9^th: Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), in partnership with the trade department of the United States Embassy in Romania and the Romanian-American Chamber of Commerce (Am-Cham), organized today, April 9^th , an information seminar on participation in the SelectUSA Investment Summit, which will take place from 10^th  to 12^th of  June 2019, at Washington DC.

The SelectUSA Investment Summit makes it easy for Romanian business people to identify new partners, resources and markets relevant to different business profiles. Participants in previous investment summits have estimated $ 98 billion in foreign direct investment in the United States, supporting more than 150,000 jobs in the United States.

“As you well know, foreign investment is very important for any country, so implicitly for the United States. This year’s SelectUSA program will benefit from the presence of 3,000 investors worldwide, along with 1000 US officials. SelectUSA is an excellent opportunity to learn legislation in America, about business opportunities or the tax system. This year, SelectUSA will be geared towards the IT industry, without neglecting the other economic sectors, “said Joshua Burke, Deputy Commercial Counselor, U.S. Department of Commerce

“The Government of Romania will organize two economic missions in the United States to support companies that want to participate in the SelectUSA program. Companies can register until Friday, April 12^th, at the first economic mission, which will be based on the IT industry. State support is 50% of travel and accommodation costs for a total of 20 companies. In two weeks, we will open the application for the internationalization of Romanian companies, and there we will provide support of 10,000 lei for each company, the application being open for a maximum of 20 days, “said Paula Pîrvănescu, State Secretary, InvestRomania.

“Romanian companies interested in investing in the United States can join the Select USA program, the most important program promoted by US authorities. At this year’s edition, representatives of local authorities in each state will have a stand at the Washington Summit. Thus, Romanian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to get acquainted with local authorities and, more importantly, to know the legislation, knowing that it differs from one state to another, “said Blake Murray, International Trade Specialist, Western & Northern Europe Team.
