The economic mission of the CCIR delegation continues with the visit to the Republic of Tajikistan

Tajikistan, May 14th, 2019: The Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) continues the economic mission in Central Asian countries, in the Republic of Tajikistan.
On Tuesday, May 14th, the President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban had a working meeting with the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Tojiddin Jurazoda, in order to strengthen the economic relations between the two states.
The second part of the economic mission was reserved for a visit to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan, where the President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban, together with his counterpart, Mr. Dzumakhonzoda Dzamshed Dzurakhon signed the Cooperation Agreement between the two National Chambers in order to establish the working framework and the guidelines for the development of trade relations.
“Both Romania and the Republic of Tajikistan base a large part of their economy on the energy, oil and gas sectors, which are some of the most robust sustainable growth engines, thanks to specialized companies that have invested in know-how and research. Thus, we can establish long-term partnerships and we can generate products with high added value. Initiatives such as business forums, economic missions and, B2B sessions will stimulate dialogue between companies in Romania and Central Asia who want to expand their operations internationally”, said the President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.
H.E. Mr. Cezar Armeanu, Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Kazakhstan, also accredited for the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, has made every effort to support the CCIR delegation to this economic mission in Central Asia. Thanks to the direct involvement of H.S. Mr. Ambassador Cezar Armeanu, the volume of trade between Romania and Tajikistan has increased and thus a wider range of Romanian products has entered the Tajik market.
The official delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania is an economic mission in Central Asia on May, 12th-17th. After the working visits to the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan, next on the agenda is the participation in the International Economic Forum to be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Background
At the 7th meeting of the Cooperation Council between the European Union (EU) and Tajikistan held in late November 2018, in Brussels, Tajikistan expressed interest in opening negotiations on a new agreement bilateral relation with the EU. This project would mean business opportunities for the Tadjik business environment and, at the same time, the possibility for EU countries to access the Central Asian market more easily and at a lower cost.
