Bucharest, June 5th, 2019: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) Board of Directors met on Tuesday, June 4th, at the CCIR Business Center headquarters, in an operative meeting. Among the themes on the agenda was the development of projects to optimize the initial dual training system in the context of real-world labor needs of companies.
The meeting of the CCIR leadership office has been attended by Mr. Ion Gabriel Bratu, President of the National Authority for Vocational Training in Dual System in Romania. Recently, the institution has signed a collaboration protocol with the CCIR that aims to develop projects at local, regional and national level to improve the initial dual training and certification system.
President of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban stressed the importance of this cooperation protocol in order to support the Romanian economy facing a real labor force crisis: “In the near future, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania will coordinate with the National Authority for Dual Professional Training in Romania the signing of protocols between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the local authorities in the context of events promoting the dual system of initial training and certification in the dual system and the establishment of eight regional offices of the National Authority in order to know the real need of Romanian companies in terms of workforce. Through these structures parents and children will be able to be directed to the dual education system, counseled and assisted in their professional career”.
President of the National Authority for Vocational Training in Dual System in Romania, Ion Gabriel Bratu said: “I think the best and safest way to promote the dual education system so as to attract as many companies as possible is the efficient use of the Cameral System infrastructure. The eight regional offices of the authority would be ideal to be in the headquarters of the county chambers of commerce. At the moment, we are talking about a 10-year strategy so the business environment would be predictable. I invite chambers of commerce to be part of an advisory council to be able to come up with proposals in order to create a viable strategy”.
The working meeting was attended by CCIR vice-presidents and representatives of the Committee on Production Policies, the Committee on Trade and Services Policies and the Committee for Economic Development Strategies.
