Timiş, June 27th, 2019: Timiş Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (CCIA Timiş), in partnership with the National Authority for Dual-Initial Professional Training in Romania, held a press conference on Thursday, June 27th, on the occasion of signing the cooperation protocol between the two institutions.

In the context of the real workforce needs of Romanian companies, for which Dual-Vocational Education is a solution for the medium and long-term situation of the lack of qualified staff, the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Authority for Initial Vocational Training Dual System in Romania have signed a collaboration protocol that aims to develop projects at local, regional and national level in order to improve the dual system training and certification system.

Executive President of Timiș CCIA, Mrs. Florica Chiriţă, said: “In the context of signing the collaboration protocol with the National Authority for Vocational Training in Dual System in Romania, we will collaborate with the main actors of the partnership, for the operationalization of this protocol, in order to find together the best alternative solutions for the companies who need skilled labor. I am convinced that the employment rate of graduate students, their professional success, solving social inclusion problems depend to a large extent on the seriousness with which all actors accomplish their assumed mission”.

“The collaboration protocol with Timiș CCIA is the 4th protocol that the National Authority for Vocational Training in Dual System concludes with the eight chambers of commerce and industry in the country, and the most representative for the West Development Region. We aim to be able to jointly promote dual learning, so we can have an interface. In this sense, the efficient use of the cameral infrastructure seems to be the most appropriate solution because dual education means a public-private partnership that takes place between an economic operator, a parent and a student. In the vision and strategy of the National Authority, chambers of commerce are the most important elements that can facilitate our closeness to the economic agents, the business environment, so that we can respond to the demand for labor force in the market”, said Mr. Ion Gabriel Bratu, President of the National Authority for Vocational Training in Dual System in Romania.

Because the implementation of Dual-Vocational Education involves collaboration between several actors: student – school – company – local authority – parents / tutors, the event was attended by representatives of each of the actors involved, the School Inspectorate of the Timiş County, colleges and high schools Technological Education in Timis County, National Center for Development of Vocational and Technical Education, National Federation of Parent Associations of Pre-University Education in the Western Zone. The local and regional public administration was represented by the Mayor of Timişoara, the public administrator of the Timiş County Council and senior councilors from the Prefect Institution of Timiş County.

The companies, the most important actors of the partnership, were represented by multinational companies and Romanian capital companies that support and promote this education system.

The discussions that followed the signing of the collaboration protocol focused mainly on the questions from the companies and the heads of the technological education units regarding the concrete involvement of the signatories of the protocol in solving the specific problems.

At the same time, the Mayor of Timisoara, Nicolae Robu, received numerous requests both from companies and school managers, to support the establishment and endowment of workshops and the financial support from the local councils for accommodation and boarding school students’ meals.
