Iași, July 18th, 2019: Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the National Authority for Initial Vocational Training in Romania, held a press conference on the occasion of the signing of the protocol of cooperation between the two institutions, on Thursday, July 18th.

In the context of the real workforce needs of Romanian companies, for which Dual-Vocational education represents a medium and long-term solution for the lack of qualified labor force, the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Authority for Initial Vocational Training Dual System in Romania have signed a collaboration protocol that aims to develop projects at local, regional and national level in order to improve the dual system training and certification system.

“Those with technical inclinations should be encouraged to move towards dual vocational education, which correlates with the needs of the labor market and includes a major part of effective and real practice in a company, which, coupled with the seriousness of the young men, leads to the certainty of a place work, I repeat, well paid once finishing the school. And, on the other hand, nobody and nothing prevents a young man from continuing his studies, through college. But it is essential that at the end of the school, followed by dual vocational education, that young person is trained, has a qualification and has a job, often even within the company where he has practiced”, said Mr. Paul Butnariu, the President of Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“The signing of this protocol is part of the strategy of the National Authority to open 8 Regional Offices in partnership with the Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The regional office that will open in Iași will cover the entire North-East region. Immediate goals are getting closer to business people, promoting the development strategy, identifying human resources, and promoting opportunities for business. And for the pupils and parents, the assurance that learning a job and having a well-paid job at the age of majority is an extra chance”, said Mr. Gabriel Bratu, President of the National Authority for Dual-Training Vocational Training in Romania.

The debate was attended by representatives of a wide spectrum of institutions with an impact on the development of dual professional education: Deputy Camelia Gavrilă – chairman of the teaching committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Maricel Popa – president of the Iași County Council, Genoveva Farcaș – general school inspector and Rodica Dumitru – Iaşi County School Inspectorate, Radu Botez – Deputy Mayor of Iaşi Municipality, Doru Mocanu – inspector at Iaşi City Hall.
