Bucharest, October 26, 2022: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Marcel Ciolacu and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Petre Daea inaugurated, today, October 26, at the Romexpo Exhibition Center, the 26th edition of the INDAGRA International Fair, the largest agricultural event in Romania dedicated to products and equipment in the field of agriculture, horticulture, viticulture and animal husbandry.
At the opening of the event, the president of CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban, said: “This year’s edition of the INDAGRA International Fair saw a significant increase compared to previous years. We noticed that for the five days of INDAGRA, the interest of the exhibitors increased, a fact that was reflected in the larger number of participants, the event registering a significant degree of internationalization this year, namely 29%, with more than 430 companies present at the fair, on an area of 29,000 square meters that Romexpo makes available. I would like to emphasize the fact that the economic agents made their budget for fairs and exhibitions from 2021, for the year 2022, without having the prospect of exiting the pandemic.”
Marcel Ciolacu, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, declared himself confident in the natural resources of our country and the results of the work of Romanian farmers: “Despite an extremely difficult year, marked by the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis and the drought, wheat production is double what is needed consumption of Romania. At the same time, Romanian fruits and vegetables are much more present in Romanian markets, and this is the credit of Romanian farmers who, despite all these difficulties, continued to access the support programs and work as a team.”
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Petre Daea wanted to congratulate the Romanian farmers for the results they achieved in extremely difficult conditions: “When the lack of water covered the entire surface of the country, you managed through your skillful work, through your daily activity to return the furrow of the country and pluck from the fruit of the earth the 9 million tons of wheat grains and the more than 2 million tons of sunflowers, thus ensuring Romania’s consumption needs and the surplus for export. Of course, this achievement could not lack agricultural technology, I mean those who produce machines and equipment and who in this fair join hands with food manufacturers, Romanian farmers.”
