Washington DC, October 11, 2023: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, and the general secretary of CCIR, Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi, participated on October 11, a.c. at a round table with representatives of the American Romanian Business Council (AMRO) during which they had discussions with the president of the organization, Mr. Eric Stewart, as well as representatives from member companies such as: Exiger, Mega Co and Lockheed Martin.

The event represents a new initiative of the CCIR to promote the business environment from Romania in the United States of America (USA), the president of the organization, Mr. Mihai Daraban, supporting the need to expand American investments in our country, as an engine of economic development in the area of energy, infrastructure, greenfield investments and other economic sectors that produce high added value.

One of the points of great interest during the discussions was the establishment of a platform for the promotion of Romanian companies for the future reconstruction projects of Ukraine, the American interlocutors expressing their firm desire to be involved, as well as providing support for the CCIR in this endeavor.

“This topic has a special connotation in this period when the Romanian business community feels the need to identify a stable and serious vector that ensures qualified communication between the Romanian and Ukrainian authorities. The dialogue with AMRO, which is an old partner of Romania in terms of organizing business events in our country, will continue in the next period as well, according to a calendar that we agreed upon by mutual agreement”, said the president of the CCIR, Mr. . Mihai Daraban.

“The visit of the CCIR leadership to Washington represents an important event for our member companies, exponents of some leading fields in the American industry, in the sense of continuing the approach to the Romanian business community and diversifying joint projects”, said the president of AMRO, Mister. Eric Stewart.
