Bucharest, September 5, 2024: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, had, on September 5 this year, an official meeting with the ambassador of Japan in Romania, H.S. Mr. Katae Takashi, in order to continue the dialogue on economic topics that the two institutions have been developing for almost ten years.
“The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania has intensively promoted, in recent years, economic relations with Japan, considering the potential of both countries to develop their commercial collaborations and mutual investments. Romania can represent a business opportunity for Japanese companies, especially considering the performances achieved by Romanian entrepreneurs in IT&C, green energy and innovative technologies. However, we must have a strong strategy to promote exports to Japan, in the previously mentioned fields, because this country offers markets for quality products, and Romania must strengthen its presence in this part of the world. At the CCIR level, we continue to play an active role in facilitating business meetings and economic missions between Romanian and Japanese entrepreneurs”, said the president of the CCIR, Mr. Mihai Daraban.
The Ambassador of Japan in Romania, H.S. Mr. Katae Takashi, emphasized the importance and potential of economic collaborations between the two countries. His Excellency highlighted Japan’s interest in expanding partnerships in sectors such as technology, energy and infrastructure. He also mentioned the fact that Japan sees Romania as a strategic partner in the Eastern European region and encouraged Japanese investors to explore business and investment opportunities in Romania while stressing the importance of constant dialogue to maximize mutual economic benefits.
