Bucharest, November 21, 2024: The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) organized, on November 21, the Romania – Poland Business Forum, an event that also benefited from the support of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Poland.

The business forum took place on the sidelines of the Polish economic mission to Romania, led by Mr. Adam Sobieszkoda, executive director of the Poland – Romania Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as by Ms. Katarzyna Kaniewska, project manager within the External Relations Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Poland.

The event was attended, along with Romanian entrepreneurs, by representatives of Polish companies operating in various economic sectors, such as: production of electrical and electronic equipment, production of thermal installations and equipment, IT&C and fintech services and the food industry.

“We are confident that today’s event will provide both Romanian and Polish companies with an opportunity to develop strong partnerships and identify new business opportunities. The shared cultural values and historical friendship between Romania and Poland represent a strong catalyst for the growth of bilateral relations and, in addition, the year 2024 is a very important one for Romanian-Polish diplomatic relations, marking 105 years since the establishment of the first diplomatic missions in Bucharest and Warsaw and 15 years since the establishment of the Strategic Partnership between the two states. From an economic point of view, Poland is one of Romania’s most important business partners in the region, ranking fourth in imports and fifth in exports. In addition, statistical data show an increase in the volume of traded goods, starting from 7.3 billion euros in 2020, to approximately 11 billion euros at the end of December 2023”, said the Secretary General of the CCIR, Mr. Ovidiu Silaghi.

The Executive Director of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Poland – Romania, Mr. Adam Sobieszkoda, emphasized that “Poland and Romania have very strong economic and strategic ties. Both countries are important partners in Central and Eastern Europe, collaborating in several key sectors due, obviously, to their common membership in the European Union, as well as to their geographical proximity. These relations are strengthened by economic and cultural similarities, but also by the common objectives of growth and deeper integration into the European economy. It is vital to continue this cooperation, through which to strengthen bilateral relations. The Polish companies present at the event today operate in different economic sectors and are very interested in direct collaboration with entrepreneurs from Romania”.
