Iași, June 5, 2025: The President of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, participated on June 4 in the second edition of the Iași Economic Forum, an event organized during June 4-5.
The Forum, organized by the Iași Chamber of Commerce and Industry, represents the largest platform for connecting with the business environment in the North-East region, thus contributing to consolidating the strategic role of this region in the Romanian economic landscape, as well as positioning Iași on the map as a strategic economic and logistic hub in this area of the European Union.
“CCIR reaffirms its commitment to support the business environment in the internationalization and development process, maintaining the political independence that has characterized us for the last 35 years. We are ready for constructive dialogue with the authorities, but this dialogue must be based on real knowledge of economic realities and on clear separation of the agendas of different categories of enterprises. Political decision-makers must recognize the importance of CCIR and genuinely involve this organization in the process of developing economic policies. Romania needs an authentic partnership between the public and private sectors to valorize its full economic potential and to become truly competitive in the international market. As the only private entity in Romania that is a member of the World Tourism Organization and with experience hosting over 50 heads of state and government in the last 25 years, CCIR can play the most effective role in the country’s economic diplomacy. This international recognition gives us direct access to high-level decision-makers from around the world, but the lack of real dialogue with Romanian authorities limits the valorization of opportunities for the business environment,” stated CCIR President Mr. Mihai Daraban.
