Osaka, June 26, 2025: The Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR), in partnership with the Romanian Pavilion within the Osaka 2025 World Expo, organized on June 26 the Romania-Japan Business Forum, an event attended by over 80 Romanian companies operating in different economic sectors.
The Business Forum, organized on the sidelines of celebrating Romania’s National Day at the Osaka 2025 World Expo, offered an important platform for promoting the business environment from Romania in the Japanese and Asian market, with participating Romanian companies managing to establish direct contacts with foreign partners for the development of joint economic projects.
CCIR President Mr. Mihai Daraban highlighted the role that the National Chamber plays in energizing economic relations with Japan. “CCIR assumes the role of catalyst for Romanian-Japanese economic cooperation. Through our support programs for internationalization of Romanian companies’ businesses and by facilitating dialogue between the business environment in the two states, we build solid bridges for developing sustainable and mutually advantageous economic collaboration. The Romanian market has a special openness to Japanese products. I am convinced that now is an opportune moment for Japanese companies to make their presence felt more strongly in international markets, and I assure you that the business environment in Romania is ready for new collaboration opportunities with Japanese counterparts.”
Additionally, Mr. Mihai Daraban emphasized the strategic importance of the Port of Constanța both regarding the future reconstruction process of Ukraine and in the development of regional trade. “The Port of Constanța today represents much more than simple transport infrastructure – it is a strategic gateway to Ukraine’s reconstruction and a vital hub for the entire Black Sea region. The privileged geographical position of the Port of Constanța transforms it into a nodal point for trade with countries from the Black Sea region, Western Balkans, and Asia. This multiple connectivity creates exceptional opportunities for Romanian companies and their international partners to actively contribute to reconstruction efforts and regional economic development. Through continuous investments in modernizing port infrastructure and through its connectivity with European transport networks, we can position Romania as a state with strategic importance in developing trade exchanges in Europe.”
