Lima, Peru, March 10th, 2017: The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, had on Friday, March 10th, 2017, a working meeting with HE Silvia Alvaro Espinosa, the Ambassador and General Director of Economic Promotion of the Ministry of External Relations of Peru and HE Maria Eugenia Echeverria, the Ambassador and International Cooperation Director within the same Ministry in Lima, Peru.

The meeting main objective was to present the economic diplomacy actions of the two countries and future joint projects in order to open the perspective of enlargement of bilateral cooperation framework to promote effective economic interests both Romanian and Peruvian.

The President of CCIR presented the strategy and investment opportunities in Romania, while underlined the CCIR opening to “cooperate in order to increase Romania’s foreign economic performance in the current global context. The objective of our organization is to support entrepreneurship and external promotion of products, services and values of the Romanian business environment and the opportunities offered by the Romanian economy to foreign investment”.

Mr. Daraban also said that the purpose of the network of advisers on Foreign Relations has the lead role in these efforts, constituting, in fact, the most important partner in terms of promoting foreign national economic interests.

Background information

The CCIR delegation’s working visit in Peru took place in the context of CCIR strategies of development to support the business environment in Romania to accede to new markets outside.
