Eurochambres
Eurochambres, (the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry) was founded in 28 February 1958, under the name of the Permanent Conference of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the European Economic Community, by six members: Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Luxemburg. Presently, Eurochambres has 46 members: 45 national organizations and one transnational one.
Eurochambres’ mission is to represent, serve and promote the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry through:
• Strengthening the position of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry as respected and important promoters of the EU economic issues;
• The development of the participation of the European Chambers of Commerce and Industry in important projects for the business community;
• The development of services for members and of a European services network for enterprises.
CCIR is a member of Eurochambres – the Association of European Chambers of Commerce and Industry since 1993, first as an affiliated member and since 2007, due to Romania’s’ accession to the EU, as a full member.
Eurochambres publishes the following:
• Press releases;
• Monthly newsletter;
• Position papers – positions on the EU Commission consultations in areas of interest for the business environment: Small Business Act, the energy strategy, smart regulations etc; joint declarations following regional and international summits etc.;
• Studies – best practices for Chambers of Commerce and European companies in various domains, Eurochambres Economic Survey (regarding the perception of the economic environment by the companies and perceptions about the next year’s perspectives), the perception of businesses on regional economic partnerships etc.
